Hari puttar has to die. No, J.K Rowling cannot decide this Hari Puttar's fate. Its Hari puttar himself who has to decide.

To take a decision is to let go of so many possibilities; to act is to kill so many parallel universes from taking birth;to make something happen is stopping a million other things from happening; to choose is to stop the universe from going in a myriad other directions, any of which would have probabilistically better consequences than the direction in which it is heading just because you chose to act; to act is to stop.

So I choose not to act. Lets see what happens
